OK...I was a fatkid. I am still a fatkid at heart, for now I am meerly a chunky woman. I want to know if any of my fellow fatkids had this experience as a youth...
Did anybody ever come up to you, poke you in the belly, and expect you to say, "hee hee!" while you grimaced and swore under your breath and knew that one day you would find a place where your adorable chubbiness was lusted after instead of mocked? OK, well maybe not the latter part, because that didn't happen to me, but did anyone else get the Pilsbury Doughboy treatment?
They used to call me "poppin fresh Chlo"
as in "hee hee! Popping fresh dough."
I love you chubby boys. I really do.

Re: My fellow fatkids...
Tue, April 13, 2004 - 11:48 AMNot really. Rahter to some of my friends I would gently poke and them and make the "hee hee" noise thus causing them to laugh. I would however never poke them in the belly, usualy the arm.
I did however have one friend in Houston who said that I should get out and exercise more and trim up. I joked with him that it would be ironic that if one day I'm the thin one and he's the one who gains weight. At the time he had the fastes metabolism of anyone I knew and was as thin as a rail and could pack away more than everyone else at the table and still be hungry. Hell the guy would even loose weight in his sleep!
Well shortly before his wedding this prophecy started to come true. He was developing a Budda. I would ask if I could rub the Budda for good luck. He didn't like that very much.

Tue, April 13, 2004 - 11:59 AMYa that is pretty funked up. It's one thing if you are the chubby one doing it to someone thin. -

It's the easiest thing to attack, so you know you are being insulted by a simpleton. Easy to ignore. -

Tue, April 13, 2004 - 8:26 PMMy sentiments exactly, it's so obvious, if you're gonna make fun of someone at least be creative or original. Hell I'll laugh right along with them if it's creative, even if I am the butt of the joke. -

yeah, i spent a good portion of my childhood as "flabby abbey", so i know what you mean. it used to embarass me, but now i find strength in it. this is how i am, and always will be, so fuck it! they can poke me in the belly and do the doughboy all they want (and yes, that's happened to me too... sigh...), but they can't take my strength away from me anymore. former fatkids unite!! :-)
