The Apathy. That's what I call it when fat guys start not giving a shit for what other people think (ie. sleight comments, insults, humour at our expense, etc.).
I started to be more secure in who I was at about... 16 or so, but it REALLY kicked in when I was 17. I was depressed and suicidal from about 12 - 17, because of a lot of different factors. When I was 17, though, that's when I really started to say "You know what? Who cares."
Whenever someone would point out my portliness, I'd say something like "Wow, it took you all of highschool to notice that?" or something to that effect. I even have some good counter-burns under my belt but I can't recall them (mainly because, well... I don't care :).
So, to all the lads out there: When did YOU get 'The Apathy"?

I stopped caring much later in life... I am who I am and I am happy with myself. The world takes all kinds, etc... Joke em' if they can't take a fuck.

After I graduated from HS I took an overseas trip with other American and European college students. Long story short, everybody started calling me LareBear or Pooh Bear because all the chicks thought I looked like a "cuddly teddy bear" when I slept. I even got the comment "yeah..... I don't think LareBear would look good if he was all twinky." For some reason this name became infamous with EVERYBODY on the trip, so much to the point that half the people I met didn't even know my real name. To this day I'm still called LareBear by a lot of my friends because of my "cuddly" demeanor.
I'd rather be a cuddly teddy bear then a bony twink.

Fri, July 30, 2004 - 1:25 AMwell i started off skinny :( but then i decided to gain weight cuase i didnt like the way i looked. well after gaining some weight people started to coment, and i decided i wanted to lose it again. however i was at Warped tour waiting inline for the ATM with my shirt off i was hot as hell. and three big guys walked by me one made a comment to his freinds, somthing like"...SEE thiss guy knows how to relax". aperently i had gave up on sucking my belly in while i was waiting in line. after he said that he gave me a pat on the belly and kept walking :) that was the day i decided WHO GIVES A FLYING FUCK THROUGH A CHEREO -
